英語詞匯from的用法
from是介詞它與其他介詞有著相似的用法，但它的詞義有很多不同的語境表達(dá)不一樣的意思，下面yjbys小編總結(jié)了介詞from的用法歡迎參考
from的用法
1. 注意不要因漢語習(xí)慣的影響，誤用 from：
自1990年以來他直住在這里。
正：He has lived here since 1990.
誤：He has lived here from 1990.
太陽從東方升起，從西方落下。
正：The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
誤：The sun rises from in the east and sets from the west.
展覽會(huì)將從星期三開始。
正：The exhibition will begin on Monday.
誤：The exhibition will begin from Monday.
2. 其后可接副詞或介詞短語。如：
It’s a short distance from here. 從這兒去不遠(yuǎn)。
The cat jumped out from under the bed. 貓從床底下跳出來。
He chose three from among these books. 他從這些書當(dāng)中選了3本。
正因?yàn)榭山咏樵~短語作賓語，所以下面這句中的 from where 就不難理解了。如：
He hid himself in a tree, from where he could seethe ememy in the distance. 他躲在一棵樹上，從那兒他可以看到遠(yuǎn)處的敵人 。
3. 從今天起多久以后 ，用“一段時(shí)間+from today ” 。如：
Threeweeks from today is a holiday. 從今天起放三周假。
I’ll comeback a month from today. 我下個(gè)月的今天回來。
4. 關(guān)于 from…to…：
用于時(shí)間、地點(diǎn)、變化、數(shù)目等。如：
I worked there from Mayto August. 我從5月至8月在那兒工作。
They flew from Paris toRome. 他們坐飛機(jī)從巴黎到羅馬。
There’re from sixty to eightypeople present. 出席的有60至80人。
Things went rapidly frombad to worse. 情況很快變得越來越糟。
用于時(shí)間時(shí)，可用 from…till, until, through。如：
We workfrom Monday to [till, until, through] Friday. 我們從星期一工作到星期五。
但是若沒有 from 則不能用 to。如：
I stayed there till [until, through, up to] September. 一直到九月我都住在那兒。
用于下列習(xí)語 。如：
from side to side 從一邊到另一邊，左右
from house to house 挨家挨戶
from handto hand 從一人之手到他人之手
from door to door挨家挨戶
fromtime to time 不時(shí)地
from west to east 從西向東
from shop toshop 逐店
from day to day 一天天地
from head to foot從頭至腳，全身
from beginning to end 從頭至尾
from hand to mouth賺一點(diǎn)吃一點(diǎn)，僅能糊口
from morning to night 從早到晚
rom where定語從句
用法一：
用于引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句，在意義上相當(dāng)于 and from there（從那兒）。如：
He hid himself in a tree, from where he could see the enemy in the distance. 他躲在一棵樹上，從那兒他可以看到遠(yuǎn)處的敵人。
We went up to the roof, from where we had a good view of the procession. 我們爬上屋頂，從那兒可以很好地觀看。
用法二：
可視為where前省略了the place，即這樣用的from where 相當(dāng)于from the place where，意思是“從……的地方”“離……的地方”。如：
From where I stood I could see everything clearly. 從我站的地方我一切都看得清清楚楚。
The car stopped short only a few inches from where I stood. 汽車在離我站的地方僅幾英寸處突然停住。
The school was only a few blocks from where she lived. 學(xué)校離她的住所只有幾個(gè)街區(qū)的距離。
若遇到前面是地點(diǎn)名詞的先行詞，如何判斷用 where 還是 from where 還是 from which? 請(qǐng)看下面一個(gè)句子：
I have bought that house, _____I can enjoy the beautiful scene of Yangpu Bridge .
我們認(rèn)為這道題填 where 和 from where 語法上都可以（但不宜填 from which），但兩者在意義上稍有區(qū)別：
I have bought that house, where I can enjoy the beautiful scene of Yangpu Bridge. 我買下了那棟房子，在房子那可以欣賞到楊浦大橋的美景。
I have bought that house, from where I can enjoy the beautiful scene of Yangpu Bridge. 我買下了那棟房子，從房子那可以欣賞到楊浦大橋的美景。
在許多情況下，用不用 from 不會(huì)導(dǎo)致語法錯(cuò)誤，但會(huì)導(dǎo)致語義變化（通常情況下是，如果沒有 from，意思會(huì)不夠明確和清楚）。比較：
He hid himself under the bed, from where he could hear what they were talking. 他躲在床下面，他可以從床下聽到他們談話。（句中的 from where 可理解為 from under the bed，意思是“從床下面”）
He hid himself under the bed, where he could hear what they were talking. 他躲在床下面，在床那兒他聽到他們談話。（句中的 where 可指為“在床邊”“在床上”“在床下”等，意思不夠明確）
