一、二合一情況
兩個(gè)句子如果主語相同,可以選擇其中一個(gè)句子作主句,然后省略另一句的主語并把謂語改為非謂語動(dòng)詞形式懸掛于主句之前或之后。
【例句】
Journalists hear that Stefanie Sun will come to Beijing.
記者們聽說孫燕姿要去北京。
They set out to obtain the news.
他們出發(fā)去搜集新聞。
合并:
Hearing that Stefanie Sun will come to Beijing , journalists set out to obtain the news.
或者:Hearing the news that Stefanie Sun will come to Beijing , journalists set out to obtain it.
【注意】要選擇表示作者主要意圖的句子作為主句。
二、多合一情況
多個(gè)句子合并,選擇其中有相同主語的句子合并。全句保留一個(gè)主語和一個(gè)謂語,其他的動(dòng)詞都變成非謂語動(dòng)詞的形式懸掛于主句之前或之后。
【例句】
我撅著嘴,翹著二郎腿,一邊抽煙一邊喝水。
I smoke a cigarette.
I drink water.
I break off my mouth.
I tilted my legs.
合并:Having broken off my mouth and lited my legs , I smoke a cigarette , drinking a glass of water.

三、非謂語動(dòng)詞結(jié)構(gòu)的翻譯技巧
在非謂語動(dòng)詞結(jié)構(gòu)的翻譯技巧中,一是要找出非謂語結(jié)構(gòu)的邏輯主語(一般為主句的主語),二是判斷主被動(dòng)關(guān)系:非謂語動(dòng)詞與其邏輯主語是主動(dòng)還是被動(dòng)的關(guān)系。翻譯完畢后,在非謂語結(jié)構(gòu)與主句之間加上邏輯連詞。
【例句】
Having finished the homework , he went out to play basketball.(時(shí)間狀語)
(當(dāng)他)做完作業(yè)后,他出去打籃球了。
Scolded by the teacher , the girl sat there without lifting her head.(原因狀語)
(由于她)被老師批評(píng)了,那個(gè)女孩低頭坐在那兒。
Seen from the space , the earth is a blue sphere.(時(shí)間狀語)
(當(dāng)我們)從太空上看地球時(shí),它是一個(gè)藍(lán)色的星球。
